Kimberley Fire Department Responds to Two House Fires, No Injuries Reported

The Kimberley Fire Department responded to two separate structure fires in Marysville and Forest Crowne during the past few days.

On Saturday, July 13th, 2024, a structure fire was reported at approximately 4:00 PM at 305th St in Marysville. Fifteen fire personnel were dispatched to the scene. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS), and utility crews also responded to the incident. Thanks to the swift action of the responders, the fire was contained to the initial home. No injuries were reported, and two dogs were rescued. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

A second structure fire was reported at approximately 6:15 PM on Tuesday, July 16th, at Ponderosa Drive in Forest Crowne. Sixteen fire personnel, two apparatus, and four support vehicles were dispatched to the scene. The RCMP, BCAS, and utility crews were also present to assist. Firefighters successfully contained the fire to the initial structure. No injuries were reported, and one dog was rescued from the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Fire Department commends the coordinated efforts of all emergency response teams and thanks residents in both neighbourhoods for their assistance with response efforts, keeping the community and fire personnel safe.
