CFO Jim Hendricks Accepts Top Job at City of Kimberley
Jim Hendricks has accepted the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the City of Kimberley. Hendricks has been promoted from his Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position after spending close to three months serving as Interim CAO.
Hendricks has an impressive resume with more than 23 years of local government experience. During his seven years as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Kimberley and 16 years at the City of Fernie, Hendricks has demonstrated strong leadership and financial management abilities. While in Fernie, he held various roles, including Director of Financial and Computer Services, Corporate Officer, and ultimately CAO. Before his years in local government, Hendricks dedicated 15 years to financial management in industry working in both the mining and oilfield service sectors.
Mayor Don McCormick is pleased with the appointment, stating, “Jim’s leadership as Kimberley’s Chief Financial Officer for the past seven years is a major reason why City operations are so stable. Extending his experience and management style to CAO is a perfect fit. We are thrilled that Jim has accepted Council’s offer.”
Hendricks looks forward to making an impact in Kimberley. Upon acceptance of the position he said, “I am honoured that Council has given me the opportunity to serve our community as its CAO. The support from City staff and the management group during my Interim CAO appointment has been humbling and I am excited to continue working with this incredible team to implement Council’s goals and help Kimberley develop its untapped potential.”
Hendricks has been acting as both Interim CAO and CFO since the departure of former CAO Scott Sommerville, who left the position late last year. A search for a new CFO will commence soon.
